London Showroom Preen P/F 19

Updated: Feb 10, 2019

It is time for Preen by Thornton Bregazzi London Showroom Pre-Fall 19 collection!!!! Everybody is so excited about this. Yet, not everybody is being part of it, it is only sales team and six other interns including me that chosen by sales team. And I am really happy that I can help again with the showroom

The day started with finishing some decoration for showroom. Therefore, sales team and the interns came to the venue at 7.30 way earlier than the open time, at 9.00 am. We divided different jobs to everyone to make the showroom done faster. My job was preparing flowers then put it on all tables inside the hall and around entrance hall whereas the other interns were preparing kitchen and at the same time some other was preparing model’s dressing room.

This time, the showroom is a bit more extra than before, I believe it’s because their type of clients is different, the clients for their last showroom is only family, friends and some VIP customer while now are buyers from big fashion retail company including Net-A-Porter and Harvey Nichols. So, for this showroom, instead of just hang the collection in the rail and let client pick what they want then try it on themselves they use professional models to showing the garments. How it works basically is the buyer will select some garments, then she/he will give it to the sales manager or executive whom they will deliver it to dressing room which next, the dresser will dress the model with that garments and finally, they are ready to show in front of the buyer. If the buyer likes it, they will next discuss about the order and payment.

A lot buyer from different brands were scheduled to come to the showroom between 9am until 4pm, however in the morning, there are three buyers come at the same time and making everything so manic. Each buyer usually want to see more than 10 styles and because we only have 3 models everyone was rushing to dressing the model so that the buyers did not wait too long. Luckily, after that everything is all right and in control. I would say that the showroom went really well.

Another biggest part of the event beside the preparation is the tidying up. After the showroom finished everybody is busy tidying up and packing everything to the boxes and carrying it to the van. Everyone needs to make sure there is nothing left in the building, so that we all can go home. Overall, even though it was a bit tiring and stressful I was really enjoyed my time in the showroom. I learned a lot about high-end fashion business and marketing and also learn more about buyer and their jobs. After the showroom I research more about buyer’s job and responsibilities and was thinking of pursuing my career as a buyer after graduate as I really enjoy doing sales as well as really love fashion.
